When driving along the Lucena – Loja road on the A331 you may notice a Gothic-ish type building behind Meson El Charcon between Rute and Iznájar. Well, that is the home of master butcher, Diego Roldán Alba, who runs Cárnicas Roldán Aguilera together with his lovely wife.

As well as producing chorizo and other fine sausages you can order meat on a wholesale basis and it is here that I obtain lamb, prepared and butchered to my requirements.

And if you live in the locale you may recognise the above image which is the sign writing on the rear of his delivery van so if you see it give Diego a wave, he’s a very friendly chap.
