I think I must be in my Andaluz patio because this hasn’t happened yet.

I can picture us having a long and leisurely lunch at a swanky restaurant somewhere in the sun probably like El Bulli near the Costa Brava resort of Rosas which sits on a quiet cove away from tourists. It is run by a world famous chef, Ferran Adrià. I wonder if he is as good as our Jamie?

It is your choice whether we sit on the terrace in the sunshine or under the shaded gazebo – both overlook the sea.

El Bulli is famous for its tapas so we leave it to the kitchen to deliver up some delights of their choice but we are in no rush as the waiter places our jug of Sangria de Cava on the table.

We take in the atmosphere.

We talk, laugh, tease, make plans and kiss the afternoon away in between eating Asparagus with Orange and Lemon Sauce (Espárragos con Salsa de Naranja y Limón), Canapés of Quesuco Cheese with Caramelised Onion (Canapes de Queso Quesuco y Cebollas Caramelizadas), Lamb and Potato Confit (Confit de Cordero con Patatas), Roasted Vegetable Towers and Manchego Crostini with Sherry Vinaigrette (Torres de Verduras Asadas con Crostini de Queso Manchego y Vinagreta de Jerez) and much more…

The wine has been like nectar; we finish with coffee and are satisfied and happy. As I see you sit back in your chair to take in the view I lean across the table and whisper, ‘take a deep breath, take in all that you could want’.

I daydream and I have medals for it but I believe I actually have a vivid imagination…

Alas, El Bulli closed in July 2011.
