Inside the parcel were also two stuffed toys for the detectives. Dad smiled and decided to hide them under the Christmas tree—assuming Casa Adora had one! The dogs didn’t know about the toys yet, but they could sense Aunty Debbie’s parcel held more secrets than met the eye.
The Piano at the Infant School – A Greyhound Classroom Story for Kids
Later, on their afternoon sniffari—the dogs’ favourite kind of walk, full of sniffs, clues, and important detective work—Issy and Poppy padded through the cobbled streets of Monte Lope Álvarez. Their noses twitched at every corner: a hint of roasted chestnuts from the plaza, a whiff of fresh bread from the bakery, and the earthy scent of damp leaves after the rain.
Suddenly, a bright tune drifted from the escuela infantil (infant school)—piano notes tumbling into the street.
The detectives crept closer, noses twitching, until they peeked through the window. Inside, a woman was playing the piano while a group of small children sat en el suelo (on the floor), clapping along.
Issy whispered, “I wonder if she could play our new jingle."
The children began to giggle. They had spotted two long, pointy greyhound noses pressed against the glass. The piano stopped. The teacher looked up, walked to the window, and opened it with a smile.
“¿Puedo ayudarles?” (Can I help you?) she asked. Then her eyes lit up. “Oh, it’s you—the Englishman from Calle Fruteros (Fruit Sellers’ Street) with the two adorable greyhounds! What are their names?”
Dad chuckled. “Issy and Poppy.”
The woman nodded warmly. “Mi nombre es Teresa, pero todos me llaman Titi (pronounced Tee-tee in Andalucía). Bueno… no los niños.” (My name is Teresa, but everyone calls me Titi. Well… not the children.) She laughed softly. “¡Entren, entren y digan hola!” (Come in, come in and say hello!)
The Jingle Lesson – Christmas Story for Children
The children clapped as Issy and Poppy trotted inside. Dad explained the funny old jingle from his Christmas biscuits. Titi grinned. “¡Vamos a probarlo!” (Let’s try it!) She tapped the piano keys, and soon the classroom was filled with voices singing:

Titi’s eyes sparkled. “That would be wonderful! The children will be thrilled.”
And so, the detectives’ Christmas jingle case was not only a musical success—it promised a whole new adventure, one that would bring education, compassion, and wagging tails to the little town.
