🐾 Issy & Poppy Investigate: Tommy Robinson and the Case of the Vanishing Visas

Some men dream of conquering Everest. Others dream of writing the great British novel. Stephen Yaxley‑Lennon, better known as Tommy Robinson, dreams of entering Colombia and Panama without being immediately deported. Alas, today’s dream was dashed at the border quicker than you can say “customs declaration.”

And so, levitating Issy, monocled Poppy, and a half‑eaten packet of custard creams are on the case.

🐾 Me: Breaking news. Robinson barred from Colombia and Panama. Why?

🐶 Issy: (hovering serenely, scattering crumbs): Distinguished only by his collection of aliases. Colombia and Panama weren’t impressed. They suspected he wasn’t there for the coffee beans - unless you count the powdered variety.

🐕 Poppy: (monocle glinting): He claimed he was “checking on his offshore accounts.” Customs officers checked too - and found only a Monopoly set with the bank notes missing.

🐾 Me: Surely this is just a man misunderstood by the system?

🐶 Issy: Misunderstood in the way a fox “misunderstands” a henhouse. Five prison terms. Contempt of court. Stalking journalists. Libelling a refugee child. Bankruptcies. Unpaid taxes. His CV reads like a cautionary tale scribbled on the back of a Ladbrokes betting slip.

🐕 Poppy: And don’t forget his 2013 U.S. escapade, sneaking in on a mate’s passport. The alias? Andrew McMaster. Sounds less like a freedom fighter, more like a frozen lasagne brand.

🐾 Me: And who are his loyal lieutenants?

🐶 Issy: A troupe of sidekicks so dodgy even Scooby‑Doo wouldn’t unmask them:

Guramit Singh – convicted of armed robbery

Liam “Tuffs” Gillett – podcasting security man

Brother Wendell – YouTuber with the aura of a parish jam‑stall

“Ginger Toni” Collins – event admin, paperclip czar

Craig Fowler (aka Jack Dawkins) – social media wrangler

Danny Roscoe – merchandise and video content

Lisa Reynolds – U.S.-based fundraiser

Peter Gillett – father of Liam, convicted of child sexual offences. A skeleton in the cupboard that rattles louder than the rest.

🐕 Poppy: A line‑up so uninspiring it makes the Chuckle Brothers look like a think‑tank, with one or two skeletons best left buried under the biscuit tin.

🐾 Me: But how does he fund this circus?

🐶 Issy: (levitating higher, biscuit orbiting like a moon): Not from his own pockets - those are emptier than a Tory manifesto promise. Instead:

Crowdfunding

U.S. right‑wing donors

Eccentric billionaires

Minnect, where he charges £28 a minute for “expert advice”

🐕 Poppy: (monocle fogging with disbelief): And crypto donations, naturally. Nothing says “trustworthy” like hiding your money in a digital wallet guarded by a cartoon dog.

🐾 Me: So what’s next for Robinson?

🐶 Issy: With Colombia and Panama closed, perhaps the Isle of Wight. Though even the hovercraft might say no.

🐕 Poppy: His trial for harassing Daily Mail journalists is set for 2026. Imagine being so unpleasant that even the Daily Mail feels harassed. That’s like being banned from Wetherspoons for excessive patriotism.

🐾 Me: Final thoughts?

🐶 Issy: He claims to defend Britain while bankrupting himself, dodging taxes, and begging for American handouts.

🐕 Poppy: A grifter, a fantasist, and now an international reject. The only borders he’s welcome to cross are the ones on a Monopoly board.

And so ends today’s dispatch. Robinson may have been deported, but Issy still levitates, Poppy still polishes her monocle, and the biscuits remain undefeated. In the grand ledger of history, Tommy’s offshore accounts may be empty - but our biscuit tin is gloriously full.

Everything here is true, except the bits that float. UK political satire, served with biscuits.

🐾 Footnote: In case you missed it, because Poppy did. Both Tommy Robinson and Charlie Kirk were funded by the same US tech billionaire fascist Robert Shillman.

🐾 Addendum: The Benidorm Bentley Affair

Following our previous mention of Mr Stephen Yaxley-Lennon’s enviable travel habits, it appears his next continental adventure didn’t go entirely to plan.

On 28 July 2024, he was stopped by police at the Channel Tunnel in Folkestone while driving a silver Bentley not registered in his name, reportedly heading for Benidorm. Officers became suspicious after noting the vehicle, a large bag containing over £13,000 and around €1,700 in cash, and his rather vague answers.

He was detained under Schedule 7 of the UK Terrorism Act, which allows police to question travellers believed to possess information relevant to acts of terrorism. He refused to provide the PIN to his phone, allegedly telling officers: “Not a chance bruv”, citing the presence of journalistic material about “vulnerable girls.”

The case is now before Westminster Magistrates’ Court, with Robinson’s legal team — reportedly financed by Elon Musk — arguing that the stop was unlawful and politically motivated. The trial is set to conclude on 4 November 2025, with a verdict expected shortly thereafter.

Had he actually made it to Spain, another small problem awaited him: carrying £13,000 without declaring it breaches EU customs law. Anything above €10,000 must be declared when entering or leaving the EU, otherwise it can be seized and fines imposed.

So, while his taste for luxury remains undiminished, the route to the sun appears to have been temporarily closed — somewhere near Folkestone.

More to follow next month.
