Poppy Tinribs crossed the rainbow bridge today.
She was around five when we rescued her. Always skinny—hence the name. We never knew exactly what had happened before she came to us, but it showed in the way she carried herself. Wary. Watchful. Careful around people.

She never asked for anything, not even food. If a bowl was put down, she ate quietly and gratefully, but she never pushed forward or demanded more. She simply accepted what came.
It was Issy who found her out in the campo—all ribs and guarded eyes. But once she settled, she became top dog. No fuss. No noise. Just quiet authority.

When we travelled in the campervan, her safe space was the bottom bunk behind the bathroom. Tucked away. Out of sight. Her own little den where she could retreat and feel secure.

She loved affection. A sofa. A hand resting beside her.

She was also one of the star detectives in the Issy & Poppy Investigate series. Tinribs didn’t seek the spotlight, but she was always observing. Thinking. Watching. Doing her job in her own way.

She simply was Poppy Tinribs.
We had over seven years together.
I’m going to miss her.
Detective Tinribs, off duty.
