Richard Tice contradictions

— patriot abroad, landlord at home, reformer of rhetoric, not reality.

Today we look at Richard Tice contradictions, Nathan Gill guilty plea, and Reform UK hypocrisy.

Here we go..

🐾 Me: Today’s case file - Richard Tice. The man who wants Britain back in the office, while his own interests holiday offshore. A reformer with a property portfolio, a patriot with a Dubai skyline, and a memory that forgets campaign photos faster than you can say “Nathan Gill.”

🐶 Issy: (levitating) I see contradictions shimmering like heat haze over Canary Wharf. He wants bodies back in offices so tills jingle in his town-centre shops - the rhetoric floats one way, the rent rolls another.

🐕 Poppy: (monocle razor-sharp) Through the glass: offshore trusts, commercial assets, and a crusade against WFH dressed up as “saving the high street.” The monocle notes the alignment - policy as asset management by other means.

👻 Jasper: (spectral, juggling rosettes) And there’s Nathan Gill - the grabber of Russian roubles - pleading guilty before the courtroom lights could pan across the benches. Handy timing, given Nigel Farage was an MEP at the same moment, ringmastering the Brexit circus. Curtain down, questions avoided, hypocrisy amplified.

🐾 Me: Tice says he never met Gill, yet the photo shows them rosetted like pantomime twins. What else?

🐶 Issy: Climate change is “absolute garbage,” he cries, as the sea rehearses its lines at the footlights. The contradictions levitate higher than my onions.

🐕 Poppy: The monocle finds a reformer who reforms nothing but his own balance sheet - denouncing “elites” while dining with them, decrying WFH while counting footfall through his properties.

👻 Jasper: Verdict delivered, with rabbits and relish: Mr Contradiction - A Patriot Abroad, a Landlord at Home. He is no more champion of the people than I, Jasper the spectral rabbit, am the Archbishop of Canterbury.

🐾 Me: Why condemn working from home while owning high street shops?

🐶 Issy: Because footfall is patriotism, and empty offices are treason. Also, commercial rent doesn’t pay itself.

🐾 Me: How many offshore trusts does it take to fund a reform movement?

🐕 Poppy: Just one, if it’s discreet. Two, if you’re planning a leadership bid. Three, if you want to reform the Cayman Islands.

🐾 Me: Is Dubai a suitable base for a British patriot?

👻 Jasper: Only if the Union Flag fits snugly between the palm trees and the tax exemptions.

🐾 Me: What’s the Reform UK stance on hypocrisy?

🐶 Issy: Officially opposed. Unofficially outsourced.

🐾 Me: Did he meet Nathan Gill or just accidentally campaign beside him?

🐕 Poppy: The monocle detects rosettes, proximity, and shared slogans. The memory, however, is conveniently offshore.

🐾 Me: Is climate change still “absolute garbage” when it floods your rental properties?

🐶 Issy: Only if the tenants complain. Otherwise, it’s just nature’s way of raising the water table - and the insurance premiums.

🐾 Me: What reforms have actually been proposed?

👻 Jasper: Reforming the definition of “reform” to include asset protection, media appearances, and selective outrage.

🐾 Me: Why denounce elites while dining with them?

🐕 Poppy: Because nothing says “man of the people” like a starter of foie gras and a side of plausible deniability.

🐾 Me: What’s the party’s position on Russian-linked donations?

🐶 Issy: If the roubles are spectral, they don’t count. If they’re in a sack, they’re campaign finance.

🐾 Me: Will he be releasing a manifesto or just another property listing?

👻 Jasper: Both! One outlines the vision, the other the square footage. Patriotism per square metre.

⚠️ Disclaimer: This is satire. No monocles were steamed, no onions levitated, and no spectral rabbits were bribed, subpoenaed, or given corporate loyalty cards.

Addendum

Update (21 Nov 2025): Former Reform UK leader Nathan Gill has been sentenced to 10½ years in prison after pleading guilty to eight counts of bribery. He admitted accepting payments in return for making pro-Russia statements in the European Parliament.

Addendum No. 2

Update (5 Mar 2026): It’s always fascinating how certain public figures manage to wrap themselves in the flag while simultaneously performing fiscal gymnastics that would make an Olympic judge blush. There’s a particular type of “patriot” who insists they’re fighting for the common citizen while quietly ensuring the common citizen foots the bill for their own creative accounting.

And of course, this all tends to happen during periods when said figure is already drawing a handsome publicly funded salary. Efficiency, perhaps — why earn once when you can earn twice.

Nothing says “love of country” quite like treating the tax system as an optional suggestion. Truly, a masterclass in national service.

Richard Tice:

  • engaged in highly aggressive tax avoidance to avoid nearly £600,000 of tax
  • did so at a time when the taxpayer was already paying his salary as an MEP. Nothing patriotic about this party of grifters. Full story in The Times.
Bold graphic with “PATRIOTS” in Union Jack lettering, followed by “DON’T dodge TAX” in red, white, and black — a visual call against tax avoidance.
Satirical cartoon caricature of Richard Tice wearing a Reform UK rosette, smirking in front of a courtroom door marked “Gill Guilty Plea,” while Nathan Gill peeks out holding a sack labelled “Russian Roubles.” Caption reads “Mr Contradiction.”
