Issy & Poppy Investigate: Andrea Jenkyns Reform UK Scandal
October 14, 2025

Andrea Jenkyns Reform UK scandal continues to unfold with inbox inflation, solar farm outrage, and a musical performance that left even ghost pets baffled. Issy & Poppy Investigate returns to dissect the drama—paw by paw, snout by snout—in a dispatch that blends forensic satire with spectral commentary.

Setting: A moonlit kitchen table in Andalucía. Poppy adjusts her monocle with a paw. Issy twitches her snout, then her white-tipped tail. Jasper the ghost rabbit chews a spectral microphone. Joey the budgie squawks from the curtain rail.

Here we go..

🐾 Me: So who exactly is Andrea Jenkyns

🐕 Poppy (monocle glinting): Former Tory MP. Now Reform UK’s answer to Meat Loaf—minus the nuance, plus inbox inflation

🐶 Issy (snout twitching): She defected after claiming Reform donors offered her £80K to jump ship. Called it a bribe, then took it anyway. Classic plot twist

👻 Joey (squawks): Integrity sold separately

🐾 Me: What’s this about her singing

🐕Poppy: She opened Reform’s 2025 conference with a self-penned anthem called Insomniac. Blamed Labour for her sleepless nights

🐶 Issy (tail flicking): Then led the crowd in God Save the King—though half the internet swears it was God Save the Queen. Nostalgia or just bad rehearsal

👻 Jasper (chewing a Union Flag sock): I once sang God Save the Ferret. Got banned from the village fête

🐾 Me: And the solar farm

🐕Poppy: She’s against it. Says it’ll ruin the view. Never mind the climate crisis

🐶 Issy (snout twitching): Meanwhile, Reform’s old flame Dubai Dick Tice still dreams of fracking Britain into a sinkhole. Shale treasure, he calls it

👻 Joey (squawks): Treasure More like toxic trinkets

🐾 Me: What’s this about her inbox

🐕Poppy: She wants £180K to manage her emails. That’s £15K per folder, assuming she’s got twelvety

🐶 Issy (tail flicking): Which is either twelve, twenty, or a Reform-approved estimate of infinity

👻 Joey (squawks): Maths now available in vibes.

👻 Jasper (snorts): I once handled 400 emails. Ate 399. Replied to one with a carrot emoji

🐾 Me: Didn’t she flip someone off

🐕Poppy: Oh yes. July 2022. Middle finger to protesters outside Downing Street after Boris resigned

🐶 Issy (snout twitching): Said she was provoked. Said it was justified. Said nothing about decorum

👻 Joey (squawks): Diplomacy now available in rude gestures

🐾 Me: And the BBC

🐕Poppy: She went on Have I Got News For You. Claimed they edited her unfairly. Said she was booed. Accused the Beeb of bias

🐶 Issy (tail flicking): The irony She was on a satire show. Complaining about satire

👻 Jasper (burps): I once booed myself in a mirror. Therapy helped

🐾 Me: So what are we saying

🐕Poppy (adjusting monocle): Andrea’s Reform arc is part cabaret, part cautionary tale

🐶 Issy (snout twitching): A glittery distraction from policy, wrapped in nostalgia and inbox inflation

👻 Joey (squawks): Reform UK where the past sings, the present flips, and the future costs £180K

Addendum: A Reform in Reverse? (Or, When the Tail Wags the Policy)

Just when we thought the biscuit tin was empty, another crumb of confusion lands on the Reform UK doormat.

While the party loudly insists that anyone coming to Britain must speak English, their own mayor in Greater Lincolnshire, Dame Andrea Jenkyns, seems to be sniffing around a very different idea — namely, scrapping English lessons for foreign nationals altogether.

According to the ever-diligent Local Democracy Reporting Service, Dame Andrea told colleagues that the £1 million currently spent on English language teaching would be better used on “literacy and numeracy to upskill everybody.” She went on to wonder why taxpayers should pay for newcomers to learn English — before adding that the county needs a more “inclusive environment.”

Issy raised an eyebrow (no mean feat for a greyhound) and Poppy hid behind the sofa muttering something about “mixed messages.” It does seem a touch contradictory: telling people they must speak English, then taking away the means to learn it.

Perhaps Reform UK’s new slogan should be: Speak English — but on your own time, and your own dime.
